Unlike my rival Suharto, El Presidente LIVES!

Greetings all,

Bet you all thought we had forgotten about the project. Fools. So the last update was just prior to the holiday season and boy what a whirlwind. Everybody was busy and for many, the passing of 2007 was a very good thing. For me, it was the year that I collected all the pieces to the puzzle. This year, my goal is to put them all together. I admit to being a total slacker with putting stuff on the website. It was one of those smaller things that just got away from me over the holiday. But I'm gonna work hardcore to get things moving on that front. We have a ton of photos, and will hopefully have a trailer up soon. In the meantime, here are some general updates about the status of the project:

Photography -

We are moving slow and steady on this. Since the last dispatch, we completed shooting on the final bunker scene, Fred-X bar scene, and the RoboMengele pickup shots. The footage looks great. All that is left is the Chucho/Largos explosives scene (to be scheduled soon) and a few random pickups.

Trailer -

We want the trailer to be solid. I have found that most indie films trailers fall into four catagories: 1. Effective and interesting. 2. Slick title work and effects, but actual film footage is crap 3. Trailer is better than the film itself. 4. Terrible trailer for terrible film.
Needless to say, we're aiming for 1 here and hope to have a trailer that gets people talking in a good way. We are going to be auditioning some actors soon for a "bridge" scene that takes place in the bowels of CIA headquarters with a bunch of government bigwigs discussing "the situation in Puta Negra". More to come on that as it unfolds.

Again, I truly appreciate your patience and understanding on this. Good quality work takes time and everyone on this project is balancing day jobs, night jobs, and the rigors of life alongside this project. I cannot thank you enough for your time and devotion to this. It has been over a year and we're still going strong in the right direction. Word to that. I have a feeling the payoff will be wonderful indeed!

Anyway, keep your ear to the ground for more rumblings.

Faithfully yours,

El Presidente
